Where we from is up there.!

A retiring missionary coming home to America on the same boat as the president of the United States. Cheering crowds, a military band, a red carpet, banners, and the media welcomed the president home, but the missionary slipped off the ship unnoticed. Feeling self-pity and resentment, he began complaining to God. Then God gently reminded him, " But my child, you are not home yet!!!"

We are here on earth, not because we belong here, but God wants us here for His purposes. Am I being a good ambassador, or while i adapt to customs and cultures of the world, i've became comfortable with this foreign country that I fell in love with it, preferring it to my homeland? We are from up there, not here!

非禽流感

everyone is talking about 禽流感 now, but i saw this piece today, thougth it was kinda funny.


阿爾巴尼亞南部最近有兩百隻火雞暴斃，當地人最初以為禽流感傳到阿爾巴尼亞。但調查發現，這些土火雞不是死於禽流感，而是被農場主灌了大量飼料，給活活撐死。阿爾巴尼亞有個習俗，就是每年秋天要把火雞餵的肥肥的，新年全家團聚時就能吃火雞大餐。有些阿爾巴尼亞農民，除了強灌火雞飼料外，還把橄欖和乾果塞進火雞肚子，認為火雞吃了這些東西，它的肉更好吃。其實人類有時為了口腹之慾，做出很殘忍的事。據說中國人為了吃北京烤鴨，歐洲人為了吃鵝肝醬，每天都把食物塞進鴨和鵝的喉嚨裡，而且不准牠們走動，把牠們餵的胖胖的，然後再宰殺。

Mark in the woods

There is this new English teacher in the school where I teach. Shawn Hull. He's a great guy. from Indiana. We hang along well. I like the circuit class they we have together.. I get to learn magic and jogglings from him He worked with David Carpenfield once, and he has a handcuff from the famous Hudini. however, he isnt the young 20s white dude i expected, he's 40, married with kids(he comes with his entire family), but we are cool. and, the community around my school is building a basketball court I've heard, maybe I can go play there after they've finished that.or I just feel like Yao Ming at school when playing with my kids. But in reality when i go out playing, i feel like a girl sometimes(being push around). Hopefully, i can learn some tricks before I finish my term(end at next May(thanks for the Ministry of Defense in Taiwan), that my term just got cut 2 months shorter).
I guess I should probabaly start looking for jobs. Maybe I can work in a circuit or something if things go well with the circuit class.

oh, the winter is coming up, so i promised the teachers who live in the dormitary that i'd cook them "beer Shrimps" thanks to Yvone who's taught me this dish. I like my school, especially at night, when there isn't anyone around. Everytime when i walk up the hill from the community, Robert Frost's "The road not taken" always comes up in my mind. Two roads diverged in the yellow woods, and sorry i could not...remember the rest..! hehe..anyways..it's good to be with bugs sometimes. by the way, me and my friends are planning on a trip to Mt. Jade soon. i hope it doesnt get too cold upthere.! 3952 i am coming!!!
